Rule Change from September: Like every month, from tomorrow i.e. from September, some important financial changes are going to happen, which will directly affect your financial condition. These changes include changes in Aadhaar card update, ITR filing, NPS and credit card rules. Apart from this, the prices of LPG, jet fuel and CNG-PNG may also change.
1. ITR Filing
The Income Tax Department had extended the last date for filing ITR this year from July 30 to September 15, 2025. This period is now ending this month. If you do not file ITR before September 15, you may get a notice.
2. NPS Deadline
The last date for opting for Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) for central government employees covered under National Pension Scheme (NPS) has been extended to September 30. Earlier this date was June 30. This scheme is for government employees.
3. Indian Postal Rules
From September 1, 2025, the Department of Posts (DoP) is merging the Domestic Registered Post service with the Speed Post service. This means that now if you send any registered post in the country, it will be delivered through Speed Post only and not through normal registered post.
4. Credit Card Rules
SBI Cards has announced a change in the rules for some of its select cards from September 1, 2025. As per this change, customers holding such cards will no longer be able to earn reward points for transactions on digital gaming and government websites.
5. Special FD Scheme
Banks like Indian Bank and IDBI Bank are currently running some special FD schemes. The last date to invest in Indian Bank's 444-day and 555-day schemes is September 30, 2025. Similarly, the last date to invest in IDBI Bank's 444-day, 555-day and 700-day special FD is also September 30.
6. CNG-PNG and Jet Fuel
Oil companies change the prices of CNG, PNG and Jet Fuel (AFT) along with LPG cylinders every month. It is expected that these prices may also change from September.
7. LPG Cylinder Price
Like every month, the price of LPG cylinders may also change from September 1. The price of commercial cylinders has been changing for the last few months.
