US Ready to Supply Unlimited Oil to India: Amidst the ongoing military crisis in the Middle East (West Asia) and the blockade created in the Gulf of Hormuz, a very relief and big news has come to light for India from the global level. Before arriving on his four-day visit to India, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has made a big announcement to provide unlimited energy (oil and gas) to New Delhi.

Marco Rubio's big statement: "India is our great ally"

While talking to reporters in Miami exactly a day before his official visit to India, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has described relations with India as supreme. Rubio has clearly assured that, "Washington is fully prepared to sell as much energy (oil and gas) to India as New Delhi wants to buy from us." He called India one of America's best and strongest partners.

India will also get cheap oil from Venezuela

In another important economic announcement, Foreign Minister Rubio said that Venezuela's interim President Delcy Rodriguez is also visiting India next week, where the final seal will be given on the issue of selling crude oil to India. It is worth mentioning that in early February this year (in 2026), US President Donald Trump had given the green light to India to buy oil from Venezuela and signed a historic trade agreement to reduce the tariff rate for India from 25 percent to 18 percent. This supply option between America and Venezuela will avert the threat of petrol-diesel shortage in India amid the war in the Middle East.

May 23 to 26: Marco Rubio's four-day visit to India

The US Secretary of State will be on a visit to India from May 23 to May 26. During these 4 days, he will visit Kolkata, Agra and Jaipur besides New Delhi. What is interesting from a diplomatic point of view is that Marco Rubio will become the first US Secretary of State to visit Kolkata in the last 14 years. Before this, in 2012, the then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had visited Kolkata. The US Consulate General in Kolkata is the second oldest US consulate in the world.

Important Quad meeting on May 26

This important meeting will be chaired by Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will do so. Apart from American Marco Rubio, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong and Japanese Foreign Minister Motegi Toshimitsu will be present in this meeting.
