The attack killed 9 civilians and injured 19, including children. During the attack, Russia captured several villages in Donetsk and one person was killed and 14 injured in the Sumy region.

On August 28, 2025, Russia launched its largest attack on Kyiv with 629 drones and missiles, killing 14 people and wounding 48. The attack also damaged the European Union building, which prompted Ukraine to retaliate.

Attacks on Druzhba pipeline and oil refineries

In response to the Russian attack, Ukraine attacked the Druzhba pipeline and two oil refineries, forcing Russia to halt petroleum exports. Why did the fighting intensify?
