It is worth mentioning that on August 27, Trump imposed an additional 25% tariff on India, but the Indian stock market was closed on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. When the market opened today, Thursday, the direct impact of the tariff was seen on the Sensex-Nifty. The BSE Sensex opened at 80754 compared to its previous close of 80786.54 and then in a few minutes it was seen trading at 80124 with a decline of 657.33 points. Talking about the NSE Nifty, this index opened at 24659.80 compared to its previous close of 85712.05 and then like the Sensex, it reached the level of 24152 with a sharp decline of 200 points.
