India Women Odi World Cup 2025 Squad: The Indian Cricket Control Board (BCCI) has announced the Indian women's team on Tuesday for the Women's ODI World Cup 2025. Under the captaincy of Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana, the Indian team will be on the field with the goal of winning the World Cup for the first time. It may be recalled that Renuka Singh Thakur has also returned to this team, while Shefali Verma has not been found.
Matches will be held in five cities of Indo-Sri Lanka
This year, the Women's ODI World Cup is being organized under the auspices of India and Sri Lanka. The World Cup tournament will begin on September 30, with the last match on November 2. World Cup matches will be played in five cities in India and Sri Lanka, including M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, ACA Stadium of Guwahati, Holkar Stadium in Indore, ACA-VDC Stadium of Visakhapatnam and R Premdasa Stadium of Colombo.
The World Cup tournament is being organized in India after 12 years. The first semifinal match will be held in Guwahati or Colombo on October 29, while the second semifinal will be played in Bangalore on October 30. Both teams who arrive in the final will get two days for preparations. The women's one -day World Cup final will be played in Bangalore or Colombo on November 2.
Eight teams will play in the tournament
The women's ODI will participate in the World Cup, including India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan. It may be recalled that the Australian women's team became the champion team in the 2022 World Cup. Last World Cup was held in New Zealand, where Australia defeated England in the World Cup final.
It may be recalled that Australia has made history by winning the title of the World Cup Champion seven times. The first Mahila World Cup 2025 was to be held in India only but after the Pahalgam attack, India and Pakistan's relations worsened and the hybrid model has been approved in this year's World Cup planning.
India's match
The Indian team will play South Africa on October 9 and Australia in Visakhapatnam on October 12 after playing the match with Sri Lanka and Pakistan. The team will play against England in Indore on October 19 and then play against New Zealand in Guwahati on October 23. The Indian team will play against Bangladesh at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on October 26.
